Lower Keyford is a very special, old, secluded
part of the ancient town of Frome in Somerset.
One of Frome’s conservation areas, Lower Keyford is located on the southern
slopes of this Mendip hillside town, between the junction of Locks
Hill / Rossiters Hill, and Keyford / Culverhill on the B3092 to Maiden
Bradley in the south. For centuries a separate village in its own
right, Lower Keyford was gradually subsumed within the town of Frome,
but it still includes a Grade II Tudor manor house, Stonewall Manor,
and some even older properties dating as far back as the 14th Century.
